Etown Stays Busy Running Numerous Crashes, Ends With a Fire Reported

     

Monday, January 23, 2012 E-Town Volunteers started a busy day responding to numerous crashes on 283 and the PA Turnpike in the morning. Truck 74 responded for a reported fire in Mount Joy while the Rescue Engine was handling the crashes.

Towards evening, Rescue Engine 741 and Squad 74 took in a spill response, while Engine 742 (Shriner), Truck 74 (Shaffner) and Chief 74 (Bock) took in the first due fire reported in a house. Units arrived to find normal conditions from the exterior. Crews from Engine Co. 742 investigated and found a fire in the oven and was extinguished. The box was downgraded to 74 only. Units cleared in twenty minutes.
