DAY ROOM

The department houses a 2010 Sutphen SPH100 Tower Ladder, a 2007 Sutphen Suppression Engine and a 2010 Sutphen Rescue Engine. We provide primary response to Elizabethtown Borough, Mount Joy Township, West Donegal Township and Conewago Township Dauphin County. We provide mutual aide response to Conoy Township, East Donegal Township, Mount Joy Borough, Rapho Township, Londonderry Township Dauphin County, Middletown Borough Dauphin County, Royalton Borough Dauphin County and South Londonderry Township Lebanon County. Our average call volume has increased to over 700 runs per year.

GYM

We accept active firefighters from the age of 18 and up. We have a junior firefighter program for students of the Elizabethtown and Donegal School districts who are ages 14 to 17. Our junior program is conducted in accordance with the Pennsylvania State Child Labor Laws. Fire and EMS related training/certifications are provided to all members free-of-charge. We strongly encourage all members to actively pursue our required training/certifications as well as unlimited additional training and certifications.

LIVE-INS:

The Elizabethtown Fire Department provides an excellent means for college students and other adult members to reduce costs by living at the station. We provide individual rooms (each room has a bed, desk, dresser, wardrobe, cable TV and wired/wireless internet access). Firefighters requesting live-in status must be 18 years of age or older. Prospective live-ins must obtain approval from the live-in committee and must obtain/maintain the following:

• Healthcare, renters and vehicle insurance
• Minimum 56 hours/week availability or 20% call volume
• Comply with department policies and procedures

The Elizabethtown Fire Department is within walking distance to the Elizabethtown College.

F&M College

Our day room (lounge) is equipped with plush recliners, reclining sofa, big screen TV, surround sound, seperate big screen gaming TV and a pool table. Our in-house gym holds state-of-the-art commercial quality free-weight, cardio and kick-boxing equipment.
